Easy Cotton Dishcloth

A simple crochet dishcloth pattern in single crochet. Quick, useful and good for practicing even tension.

Materials

  • Yarn: about 70 yards of worsted cotton
  • Hook: 4.5 mm (7)
  • 4.5 mm hook
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations (US terms)

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet

Instructions

  1. Chain 31.
  2. Row 1: Sc in the 2nd chain from the hook and in each chain across (30 sc).
  3. Row 2: Chain 1, turn, sc in each stitch across.
  4. Repeat Row 2 until the piece is roughly square (about 32 rows, 8 in).
  5. Fasten off and weave in ends. Wash before first use.
