A flat crochet coaster pattern that teaches working in the round and increasing evenly.

Materials

  • Yarn: about 15 yards of cotton
  • Hook: 4.0 mm (G-6)
  • 4.0 mm hook
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations (US terms)

  • mr: magic ring
  • sc: single crochet
  • inc: increase
  • sl st: slip stitch

Instructions

  1. Make a magic ring. Round 1: 6 sc in the ring and pull tight (6).
  2. Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch (12).
  3. Round 3: *Sc, inc.* Repeat around (18).
  4. Round 4: *Sc in 2, inc.* Repeat around (24).
  5. Round 5: *Sc in 3, inc.* Repeat around (30). Sl st to join, fasten off and weave in ends.
