Simple Crochet Flower

A small five-petal flower to use on headbands, bags, cards or blanket edges.

Materials

  • Yarn: about 8 yards of worsted yarn
  • Hook: 4.0 mm (G-6)
  • 4.0 mm hook
  • Yarn needle

Abbreviations (US terms)

  • mr: magic ring
  • sc: single crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • ch: chain
  • sl st: slip stitch

Instructions

  1. Make a magic ring. Round 1: 10 sc in the ring. Join with a sl st.
  2. Round 2 (petals): In the next stitch work chain 3, 2 dc, chain 3, sl st, all in the same stitch. Sl st in the next stitch.
  3. Repeat the petal and the sl st 4 more times (5 petals).
  4. Fasten off, leaving a tail. Weave in ends.
